‘Slow down’: Mystery painter puts a message on the street in Bird Rock

  Sign the petition   here . Lower speed limits save lives and prevent injuries. " For some residents, however, the message echoes a call for drivers to slow down on Bird Rock streets. In summer 2022, Bird Rock resident Harry Bubbins, who is now president of the La Jolla Community Planning Association,  launched a petition drive   aiming to have the 35 mph speed limit lowered on La Jolla Boulevard as it winds into Bird Rock. The petition has since been submitted to the city for consideration.
